HCFAK Children’s Church Vision Statement is:
“Encouraging children to discover their personal next step toward a relationship with Christ.”

Bro. Jr. and Sister Lisa Galvez have lived in Alaska for over 20 years. Bro. JR. is originally from Texas and Sister Lisa is from Florida. They met here in Alaska and were married on March 18 2000. God called Bro. Jr. and Sister Lisa into ministry long before they met and both have over 15 years’ experience combined in working with children and youth. Their years of hard work and dedication include Vacation Bible School, Christmas and Easter programs with the desire to reach out beyond the walls of the church into the community to see children saved, delivered and growing up in the Lord. Bro Jr. is a licensed minister with the Church of God and has a degree in Human Services with an emphasis in family and youth. Bro JR. has a certificate from the Church of God Division of Education in Calling and Ministry and a certificate from Children’s Ministries Workshop in Christian Education Training. God has brought Bro. Jr. and Sister Lisa to Harvest Christian Fellowship Church of God to continue the work that God has called them to do. They are very excited to be here as they labor for the Lord in reaching out to children with God’s Word.

“Through being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, the teachers and helpers of the Children's Church will endeavor to teach the Word of God to the children so that they will have a strong foundation and their relationship with God will grow, and so that, as we teach the children, they may apply it to every aspect of their lives, both at home and at school.  We will nurture and develop their love for God and each other, as well as for the Scriptures.  They will also be given the opportunity to develop their prayer life.  Every new child will be given the opportunity to ask Jesus into their life as their Lord and Savior”

The Children’s Ministries Team runs Children’s church on Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings as well as an annual Vacation Bible School and Fall Festival in October.  Children’s Ministries has four teams, as listed below:

KIDS FOR CHRIST

AGES 3-5

Join us Sunday morning to have fun learning about our Lord Jesus Christ.  We have lessons and play games.  Sometimes we watch movies, sometimes we do crafts, and we always try to have fun. You may even meet your new best friend for life.

God's warriors

AGES 6-8

Join us Sunday morning to have fun learning about our Lord Jesus Christ. We go a little deeper into the Word while learning lessons and play games.

ARMY OF GOD

AGES 9-12

Come and join us Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings to have fun worshiping and learning about our Lord Jesus Christ.  We sing, have lessons and play games.  Sometimes we watch movies, sometimes we practice plays, but we always try to have fun.  We also use Bible Bucks for rewards for different things.  The following is the information on Bible Bucks.  Bible Bucks can be redeemed for prizes the first Sunday of every month.

Ways to Earn Bible Bucks:

  • Bring a Bible to Children's Church or any other organized children's or family event = One Bible Buck

  • Bring an offering to Children's Church = One Bible Buck

  • Bring a friend to Children's Church for their first visit = Five Bible Bucks plus the friend gets Five Bible Bucks to start their bank.

  • Memorize an assigned Scripture = One to Three Bible Bucks.  Memory verses will be assigned every Sunday morning and repeated on Wednesday night.  Any child that can memorize an assigned Scripture will receive from one to three Bible Bucks depending on the difficulty.

  • Bible Detective = One to Five Bible Bucks.  A Bible Detective question is assigned every Sunday morning and repeated on Wednesday night.  They are to look through the Bible for the answer.  Yes, parents can help. When they find the answer, they write the answer and their name on the card and turn it in to Bro. Dave, any child that can answer an assigned question will receive from one to five Bible Bucks depending on the difficulty plus an extra Bible Buck for saying in what book, chapter and verse it was found in.

  • Win a game played during Children's Church = One to five Bible Bucks depending on the difficulty.

Wednesday evenings we have a combined age group class, we sing, have lessons, play games, watch movies & practice plays.  No matter what the activity, having fun is always the main ingredient.

Please join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.  I hope to see all your children there.
